General Business Administration Degrees

A Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is a bachelor's degree of Commerce and business administration. In most universities and colleges, the degree is conferred on a student after four years of full-time study (120 credit hours) in one or more areas of business concentrations. The BBA program usually includes general business courses and advanced courses for specific concentrations. It should have similar and mostly the same subjects as that of Bachelor of Commerce. Alternative degree titles include Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), Bachelor in Management and Organizational Studies (BMOS) and Bachelor in Management Studies (BMS). The Master of Business Administration (MBA or M.B.A.) is a master's degree in business administration, which attracts people from a wide range of academic disciplines.

The BBA degree is designed to give a the student a broad knowledge of the functional areas of a company, and their interconnection, while also allowing for specialization in a particular area. BBA programs thus expose students to a variety of "core subjects", and, as above, allow students to specialize in a specific academic area; see MBA program content. The degree also develops the student's practical managerial skills, communication skills and business decision-making capability. Many programs thus incorporate training and practical experience, in the form of case studies, projects, presentations, internships, industrial visits, and interaction with experts from the industry.

The core courses in the MBA program are designed to introduce students to the various areas of business such as accounting, finance, marketing, human resources, operations management, etc. Students in MBA programs have the option of taking general business courses throughout the program or can select an area of concentration and focus approximately one-fourth of their studies in this subject.
